Domaine du Père Jean, Beaujolais-Villages Vieilles Vignes 2023This is an unfiltered, hand harvested Gamay from the same sandy clay Clos Reisser plot as the Pre Jean Beaujolais Villages. This cuve, though, was made from the fruit of vines seventy years old, and only two thousand bottles were produced. There's beautiful balance between its dark fruit character and typical floral, cherryish aromas, with soft tannins making it a perfect partner for a wide range of dishes from red meats to poultry or cheeses.
