FragransTechnically this is an Azaleadendron, a cross between the rhododendron catawbience and the native East Coast azalea viscosum. The plant is semi evergreen, losing some leaves in the winter. This is due to the parent R. viscosum being deciduous. But this parent is also responsible for the flowers being highly fragrant.
